Hello, we are TravelEye! (Or to put it more bluntly: sharp vision is joie de vivre)
We are a registered organisation that ensures that people in Uganda can see clearly again. TravelEye was founded by opticians who want to make the world a little better.

From 28 February to 15 March 2025, a team will once again travel to Uganda to continue supporting the eyeglass project in the Diocese of Masaka and prepare it for the future.
It is a good mix of experienced Uganda travellers and newcomers. For Melanie, Roland and Elmar, it is a mission in familiar surroundings with good friends and partners. Alexandra and Sarah are joining us for the first time, highly motivated and very excited to see what awaits them.
Our main tasks on site are:
1. Setting up the eye clinic:
We will work with local partners to further expand the eye clinic in Bwanda. Our team will help prepare the clinic for operation and ensure that it meets all the needs of the patients.
2. Conducting outreaches and screenings:
An important part of our trip will be to conduct eye examinations and screenings. We will take measurements of both adults and children and, if necessary, provide them with appropriate glasses and offer them medical assistance.
3. Supplying sunglasses:
Due to the high daily UV radiation in Uganda, it is necessary to protect the eyes.
Sunglasses for all age groups are a necessity that unfortunately not everyone can afford. For this reason, we will also provide the locals with sunglasses on site.
4. Construction of a new optician's workshop workshop:
A new focus of our future work in Uganda will be the construction of our own optician's workshop. The first step will be to construct the workshop and equip it with the necessary equipment and tools. However, the provision of spectacle frames and lenses will also be a logistical challenge. The training of a qualified optician is to be contractually agreed during this trip. The aim of this ambitious project is to expand our portfolio so that we can offer help to more people with different eye problems.

What we  do

SCREENINGS | OUTREACHES | SUPPORT FOR THE DEVELOPMENT OF AN EYE CLINIC

Together with local institutions, we organise screenings to detect eye diseases as early as possible and take measures to correct simple visual defects.
The decision-making power and economic strength always remain in the respective country. We can tell countless stories that prove that we really can achieve something. And have already achieved it.
